Pakistan Garage Sale

Hey Blog readers,

We are having a garage sale this Saturday and we hope you can help! Please read note below and let us know if you can help!

Dear friends and family,

We hope this finds you well. As many of you know, there is a great deal of turmoil in Pakistan that has caused millions of Pakistanis to be displaced as they flee violence (to learn more, go to http://refugeesinternational.org/policy/field-report/pakistan-protect-people-first)
. For this reason, the country and people of Pakistan have been on our hearts and minds recently. As we thought of ways we could help form afar, we came up the idea of a garage sale/bake sale extravaganza. Our plan is to do this on Saturday, November 7th.
Your help would be awesome! Here are some ways you can participate:

1. Donate. Go through your stuff and select items to donate. Any item is fair game. Clothing seems to be a big seller in our neighborhood, but really anything goes. Deliver them to our house anytime after 12:00 on Friday, November 6th, or Saturday morning (if it is big stuff like furniture). We can also come pick stuff up that week if you don't have time to deliver it or will be out of town.

2. Bake! Make a treat we can sell! You know how those famished garage-salers are.

3. Help out. Come on Saturday to help out with the sale. It will start at 8:00 and go till whenever! We would love to hang out with you.

4. Pray. Pray for Jesus to heal the nation of Pakistan. This is SO important. Our prayers change things.

All proceeds from the sale will go towards relief work that is being done by the Christian Reformed Church in Pakistan. They are helping to provide for the basic needs of displaced persons. You can check out what they are doing at http://www.crcna.org/news.cfm?newsid=1388 or http://www.crcna.org/news.cfm?newsid=1332.

Please send us an email if you would be interested in helping out in any of these ways. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated! Also, if you know anybody who would like to participate, or who is especially laden with stuff, feel free to forward this on.

May God bless you and keep you,

Chase and Cassie
