Remembering my Dad

Yesterday marked one year without my dad. It is so crazy to think that a year has gone by. It's been a year marked by great suffering and by great healing. I've been awakened in a new way to both the brokenness of our world and also the sweetness of Jesus. Today I'm remembering my dad's great spirit and sense of FUN. The picture above is of him dancing at our wedding, just a few short weeks after a major hip surgery. Always the life of the party, that Norm.

Yesterday a few of us went for a walk to Hammonds, his favorite beach. It wasn't a very nice day for a walk, but it turned out to be quite beautiful. We showed up dressed in a rainbow of raincoats, which stood out all the more against the gray backdrop. It was nice to remember our beloved Poter, to say a few words, and throw some ashes into the ocean to remember.

Getting a ride with dad! The best!

We didn't plan it.

Love to you all today!

A sweet remembrance. I'm missing your dad too, especially his way of bringing humor and fun into the mundane things of life. It is wonderful to see that part of him live on in you though:)
